Result analysis reports

Review how a class performed, see grade distribution, merit and failure lists on screen, and print marksheets and tabulation sheets.

Once results are computed, you can read an exam on screen: how many passed, how grades are spread, who came top and who is at risk. For documents to hand out or file, use the print reports catalogue.

Before you start

  • Results for the exam must be computed under Examination > Results. Figures are based on computed results, so recompute after changing any marks.
  • You need access to the analysis and reports screens. If you do not see an option, it may not be included in your plan or your role may not have permission; ask your administrator.

Steps

Read an exam on screen

  1. Go to Examination > Analysis & Exports > Analytics.
  2. Choose the Exam and click Load.
  3. On the Analytics tab, see the number of students, how many passed and failed, the pass rate, and the grade distribution with the count and share for each grade.
  4. Open the Merit List tab for students ranked by position, with class, marks obtained out of total, percentage and grade.
  5. Open the Failure List tab for students who did not pass, with the number of failed subjects and their result status.

Print documents

  1. Go to Examination > Print Reports. It lists the documents you can print for an exam, such as marksheets, tabulation sheets, gazettes, and merit and failure lists.
  2. Choose a report. In its filter panel, choose the exam, narrow to a class or section if needed, and set page size, font and ordering.
  3. Print or save the document.

Export data

  1. To work with results in a spreadsheet, use Examination > Analysis & Exports > Data Exports.

Good to know

  • The Analytics screen is for looking at results. Use Print Reports for anything you want to hand out.
  • Students on a fee hold have their printed document withheld. Staff with full report rights can override this from the filter panel.
  • For semester-based institutes, cumulative grade point averages across semesters are kept under Consolidated Results > CGPA.
  • Results from an outside board can be recorded under Consolidated Results > Board Results, so they sit alongside your own exams.
  • The Examination > Dashboard shows how many exams are at each stage, from setup through marks entry, approval and publication, and what is waiting on you.

Common questions

The figures look wrong after a mark was corrected.
Go to Examination > Results and recompute. Analysis always reads the last computed results.

Can I compare subjects within a class?
Report card settings can show the class average and highest mark per subject. For a class-wide view, look through the registers listed in Print Reports.
